Back in Business!

I must admit...I have not been great at keeping this blog updated. But, Troy is planning to start his own blog and helping him come up with the concept made me want to get mine going again! (For real this time!!)

We may have moved back to Iowa in December, but that did NOT stop us from continuing our travels. After all, now is the time to do it, right? Since moving to Des Moines, we have traveled to Colorado, Kansas City, Lake Geneva, WI, and we have a trip to Grand Rapids, MI coming up in October!! (More on those trips to come!!!)

Ok, maybe we've stuck around the Midwest a little...BUT we are in an entirely new city. Des Moines is crazy different than small town Dyersville and even smaller town Wilton. Since moving here, we have made some great friends, reunited with old friends and have gotten to attend some awesome events like Nitefall on the River (concerts & beer), Food Truck Throwdown (food trucks, concerts & beer), Baconfest (bacon, food trucks, concerts and beer)...I am starting to sense a common theme or two...or three...

One of our favorite things to do since we've been home is Taco Tuesday bike rides with our old buddies!

Eric Hutchinson concert with some new buddies!!
Nitefall on the River

The other FABULOUS part about being close to home is not missing out on important events like Weddings..

and Birthdays..
The girls surprised Allie and me with scratch cupcakes for our birthday! YUM!
 and Holidays..
Thanksgiving!
and Cousin Weekends..

 and Babies!!
Yes....this should be in the baby section...after all we had a keg....at a baby shower!
Emery's Baptism
Beautiful Emery in her Pink Flamingo outfit!
Precious Quinnie-Bear sleeping like an angel!

And, of course, being reunited with our two rescue kitties...Pickle and Charlie!!

So, why have I shoved my poor blog into the corner and ignored her? It isn't that I haven't had anything to write about and it certainly isn't that I don't HAVE the time. We got back to Iowa, life started happening, and I just haven't MADE the time. So, I am turning over a new leaf (like the Fall reference?). I am going to MAKE the time! So, I will continue to update everyone on what's new in our lives! While you may see less about the beautiful mountains, relaxing oceans and tasty lobster (sad face), you will definitely see more about mini-vacas, family holidays and good times with friends!
